VLSI programmable integer wavelet transform processor

Zhou Shuo-yan · Guangdian gongcheng · 2005

Due to the availability of image transform from integer to integer with the second generation wavelet transform and the performance of image reconstruction uninfluenced by boundary conditions, the defects caused by the first generation wavelet transform can be eliminated completely. As a result, a method of VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) implementation based on Integer Wavelet Transform (IWT) is proposed, thus high frame rates can be achieved with moderate gate complexity. The chip is simulated on FPGA with an ALTERA’s FLEX10K chip by using SYNOPSYS’FPGA –COMPILER and ALTERA’s MAX+PLUSⅡ.
