A P2P Proxy Protocol Based on Self-organizing and Searching Algorithm

The technologies of firewall, proxy and network address translation are used widely in the internet due to the problems of security, network architectures and differences of network access methods. These technologies restrict the communication between the peers of P2P (Peer-to-Peer) network. A novel P2P proxy protocol based on self-organizing (S4P) and a searching algorithm for proxy service are presented. In S4P, each peer of P2P network can provide signaling and data forwarding abilities, so the peers can go through the communication hindrance of each side and break the limitation of the network by using the protocol. In addition, the proxy protocol extends the connecting ability of the P2P network. The results of the simulation indicate that S4P not only can accomplish the data exchange task but also has better performance.
