Design of Voltage Measurement System for Tesla Transformer's forming Line

A voltage measurement system is designed to measure the forming line voltage of the Tesla transformer with output voltage at several MV. The circuit principle of the capacitance voltage-divider is described briefly in this paper, and condition of waveform without distortion is presented. Based on the analysis, the structure of the system is designed according to the structure of the transformer. Meanwhile, the second resistance voltage-divider is designed according to the requirement of the control system. The experiment indicates that the designed system can meet the measurement requirement.
