IP storage technology——iSCSI and its application

Storage network is a large,complex and expensive network.The cost is low when the network employs traditional SCSI technology,but the data transferring is limited to distance and path;advanced FC technology eliminates these disadvantages and speeds up the transferring rate,but its structure is complex,it's difficult to maintain it and it's expensive.Users expect simpler,cheaper work that uses present Ethernet environment to complete data storage,so ISCSI technology is introduced.The principle,application and the characteristics of the ISCSI protocol are discussed in this paper.
