This paper briefly introduces the conceptions and categories of web mining, the conception of web usage mining and application areas of its are discussed, especially on processing objects and methods. The functionality of data collecting, Data preprocessing; Pattern Discovering; Pattern Analyzing as well as the technologies adopted in these modules are introduced in detail. In the end , The prospect of web usage mining future research is given.
