DISPLACEMENT AND STRAIN ANALYSES OF THEDEFORMATION MONITORING NETWORK INFILDES PENINSULA, WEST ANTARCTICA

: In this paper, a model for deformation analysis is set up by using the method of quasi-stable adjustment in combination with the distribution of faults in the monitored area. Then displacement and strain analyses are performed using the data from observa tions made in three epoches: preliminary analysis indicates that Fildes strait exhibits p-ronouned faulting activities, vertical displacement is characterized by converging after separating with moving range of about 17mm. However, the general trend is separation, the spreading rate is about 5mm per year.
