A practical temperature measure algorithm and The ASIC Design for digital thermometer

Gang Wang · Journal of Circuits and Systems · 2009

The traditional design of electronic thermometer uses lots of complicated analog circuits which means higher power consumption and cost. A novel temperature measure algorithm is presented. The algorithm is more suitable for realization by ASIC. With CSMC 1.0μm MGLV topological technology design rule, the practical digital thermometer circuit and the layout are designed. It is verified by the Spcetre,Verilog XL and Matlab simulator, and simulation results show that the system manages to achieve the accuracy of ±0.1℃(±0.2 ℉ ) in range of +32.0℃~+42.0℃(+90.0℉~+108.0 ℉) and offers both Centigrade and Fahrenheit results. The average current of this system is 100μA with 1.5V power supply. The circuit presents low power consumption and high integration characteristic.
