A Corpus-based Comparative Study of "N+N" Construction in Chinese and English

The paper is a comparative study of the noun+noun construction in Chinese and English based on the two corpus: FROWN and LCMC.In both English and Chinese,there are four types of N+N construction: conjunctive,relation linking,property mapping and fusion,while each type has different frequency in the two corpus.Furthermore,each language has its own unique noun+noun construction.Finally,in English there are also many paratactic structures at the level of phrase.
