Transmission rate of cooperative communications based on amplify-and-forward protocol

Yuehua Ma · Information technology newsletter · 2013

Cooperative communication is an efficient technology to obtain similar diversity and multiplexing gains of MIMO system through distributed antennas of different nodes. In amplify-andforward protocol the cooperative node directly amplifies and forwards the received signal from source node to destination node, which made the protocol efficient and easy to implement. This paper, for cooperative communication systems based on amplify-and-forward protocol, founds half-duplex time division system model, analyze the bound of amplifying coefficient, and inferential reasoning the maximum transmission rate for cooperative communication system based on amplify-and-forward protocol.
