Construction for a Class of 3-Band Orthogonal Scaling Functions with Arbitrary High Approximation

Base on a 3-band perfect reconstuction lowpass filter,the construction of a new one with arbitrary high approximation was given.It is proved that the 3-band perfect reconstuction lowpass filter meet the Cohen’s condition if the given one meets the Cohen’s condition.The lowpass filter generates a 3-band orthogonal scaling function if the given one is the two scale symbol of an orthogonal scaling function.The approximation is twice as the original.The constructioncanbereused.The change of the supported interval was also discussed.At last,three examples are given to illustrate the results of this work.
