Information integration for bulk cargo logistics

Bin Yang · Computer-aided engineering · 2006

An information integration platform is built for bulk cargo harbor logistics by system analysis and design of the hierarchy, logical and physical structure. Techniques such as data mining, distributed database and information integration, etc. are used to implement resource sharing, information transparencies, and decision support in the bulk cargo logistics supply chain. The application of the system improves the workflow of bulk cargo harbor logistics, and accelerates the turnover of vessels and tracks, and improves port throughput and operational returns, and also reduces the queue phenomena effectively.
