Rigorous Positional Uncertainty of Line Primitive Consideration of Parameters Error in Geographic Information System
Tong Xiaohua · Journal of Tongji University · 1999
A new positional error model for describing the uncertainty of line primitives in GIS is developed in this paper. Considering not only the errors of two end points but also the errors of the measured distances in the line segment, the model in more theoretically rigorous. The reason that the characteristic of error distribution of the line is explained by this model. The determination of error band width is anlyzed. With a case study and visualization, the model is tested and some conclusions are reached.
