Selection and Analysis of Superior Families of Eucalyptus camaldulensis

MO Xiao-yong · Eucalypt Science & Technology · 2010

Three growth traits of genetic variation in 141 families of 8-year-old Eucalyptus camaldulensis were analysed, and superior families were selected according to mean individual volume of each family. The results showed that there were significant differences in H(height),DBH(diameter at breast height) and V(volume) between families. The order of family and individual tree heritability were hDBH hH hV. It was more useful for selecting E.camaldulensis superior families by individual volume based on genetic correlation coefficient. 13 superior families including family No.103,No.106 and No.108 were selected by performance level analysis,T test and two different reference standards, mean of individual volume of the first three families reached 0.1120 m3,0.0944 m3 and 0.0936 m3 respectively.
