An Analysis to the Causes of Broken Piles of Port Wharf at the Yangtze Estuary Section

Based on the hydrographical and geological conditions and real-measured engineering data(including broken piles)of a wharf at the Yangtze Estuary section, it gives an analysis and research to the functional mode of wharf foundation pile under flood tide torrent.The causes for broken piles of wharf lie in the serious scouring of silt surface(in depth)around foundation pile, too high speed of flood tide current and violent swaying of foundation pile. The method of analyzing and calculating the internal force of wharf foundation pile and vibration analysis method for foundation pile under flood tide torrent are advanced.
