Choosing the 14 years old Pinus yunnanensis plantation with the density of 4464 trees/hm2 in Niuda forest farm of Shiping County as study target, the effect of intermediate cutting intensity on stand growth was studied using four kinds of treatments, namely cutting 15 %,25 %,35 % and 45 % of the whole tree number.Based on the investigation results of increment of DBH,height and individual tree volume on the treated stand three years after intermediate cutting,it was proposed that the optimum intermediate cutting intensity was 35 %.
