Improved Authentication Scheme based on Self-updating Hash Chain

To address the limited resources of Ad Hoc network,such as communication width,computing ability,several certification models of Ad Hoc network are described,their advantages and disadvantages also analyzed respectively. An improved mutual authentication and key agreement scheme based on self-updating hash chain is proposed. The analyses show that this scheme adopts hash function and symmetric key algorithm to avoid the complexity of traditional asymmetric key algorithm,and thus noticeably reduces the computational and communicational overhead,and meanwhile the security properties of this algorithm could,to some extent,satisfy the authentication demand under limited resources of Ad Hoc network.
