Commercial RDBMS-based data exchange in XML-form
Liao Shu-mei · 2004
An introduction is given to the updated XML supports, provided by three major commercial relational database management systems (RDBMSs), i.e. Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and IBM DB2, for SQL data exchange in XML-form through the Internet. Comparisons focusing on the issues of how to store XML documents in SQL databases and how to publish SQL data as XML documents are made from the angles of technical means and features of the RDBMSs. Finally, a conclusion on the technology and the trend of its future development are presented in brief.
