A Survey on Applications of Voronoi Diagrams

The Voronoi diagram is a fundamental data structure about space partitioning. It has been employed in a variety of geometry-related fields since 1900s. With the popularity and development of computing technology, the area of its applications is still being widened each year. Based on the references obtained from Internet, this paper try to give a broad and deep survey on the applications, especially those since 1990s. Emphasis is put on w hat problems it solves and why it is employed.
