Non-Rigid Medical Image Registration Based on the Thin-Plate Spline

Non-rigid medical image registration is the method of the non-linear image registration.It can realize registration between images.It plays an important role in some kinds of registrations.Such as registration of the multi-model image of larger deformation,parenchyma,micro-image and standards atlas.In this paper,a registration algorithm is presented which based on the registration algorithm of 3D/2Dnon-rigid medical images.The algorithm used thin-plate spline image on prominent feature points and local features point to determine the basic image deformation trend.In the local registration area,mutual information approach was used for registration,the deformation of the local image was adjusted to solve the problem of incomplete matching caused by lack of feature points which makes smoother image and obtains more satisfactory results of the registration.
