Analysis of TCP and SCTP-CMT and Comparison in Wireless Network

TCP and SCTP belong to the transport layer protocol, they can provide reliable data transmission service. SCTP Con current Multipath Transfer(SCTP-CMT) mechanism is proposed based on SCTP, it can transfer data by multiple paths concur rently to increase an application's throughput, this paper discusses the basic properties of TCP and SCTP-CMT. We take the ve hicle network environment as an example, to compare the transmission performance of TCP and SCTP-CMT in wireless net work with multiple paths. We compared the transmission efficiency of TCP and SCTP-CMT in vehicle network environment by NS2 simulation platform. The simulation results show that, the transmission performance of SCTP-CMT is always higher than that of TCP.
