In order to quantitative analysis the charactersitic of drivers' visual search, the concept of Viusal Interesting Region(VIR),which includes area per unit time and barycentric coordinate, was proposed. On this basis, the eye movement indexes were obtained by tests, the area per unit time and the barycentric coordinate of VIR were cacluated using Matlab.Visual information can be classified as information of highway alignment, driving state and traffic flow, whose influencing factors are horizontal alignment, operating speed and frontage vehicle numbers. Finally, based on the eye movement data obtained by the tests, the model of the relation of VIR indexs with influencing factors was established by qualitative analysis and regression.
