Chirplet transforming is a new linear time-frequency analysis methods.In this paper,we introduce the chirplet transforming and compare the advantage and disadvantage of the chirplet transforming,stft transforming and cwt transforming in computing instantaneous frequency.At last,we give some applications on sedimentary cycle signals in petroleum prospecting development.
