An improved method to eliminate the rain drops in video images

This paper proposes an improved method to remove the rain in video images.By analyzing the physical optics properties of raindrops,firstly five consecutive video images were saved into an array and then found the maximum and minimum values of the same pixel point in the five images.When the difference of the maximum and minimum values is above zero,it proves that this pixel point is covered by raindrops.Then compare the difference between the maximum (minimum)value and the value of the same pixel point of the video image to be dealt and then take absolute value.When the difference between this point and the minimum value is higher than the difference between this point and the maximumvalue,replace the gray value of this pixel point with theminimumvalue.And finally,thismethod was compared with Nayarmethod.Experiments showthat thismethod can better eliminate the raindrops in video images.
