A Cluster-based Energy-Efficient Data Gathering Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks
Jing Yang · Journal of Guizhou University · 2010
Based on the strict energy limitations in wireless sensor networks,a cluster-based,energy-efficient data gathering protocol(CEDGP) was presented.Firstly,CEDGP divided nodes in the network into clusters by the correlation.Secondly,a chain was formed in each cluster by an improved nearest neighbor algorithm. Finally, the multi-hop scheme was used to transmit the gathered data from clusterhead to the base station. The simulation results show that CEDGP can outperform PEGASIS and LEACH in terms of network lifetime and energy consumption.
