Error analysis for carrier phase mismatch and noise of tracking RDC’s input signals

Tracking resolver-to-digital converter is widely used for high-speed precession angle measuring. The measuring scheme and main errors are introduced. Then two shortages of past error analysis are pointed out for engineering application. The carrier phase mismatch error is analyzed and its expression is determined. The input noise requirement is quantified based on the theory of lock-in amplifier. The estimate method for maxim permitted gain of signal conditioning is presented. The analysis methods and quantified results could be applied to the design of high-speed precession angle measuring system.
