Status and Trend Analysis of Maize Diseases in the West Mountain Regions of Hubei

The occurrence of diseases in the maize varieties regional test and maize production in west mountain areas of Hubei from 2007 to 2008 were analysed comprehensively.The results showed that the major diseases of maize production in the west mountain regions of Hubei had new status.In addition to the common maize disease such as the northern corn leaf blight,southern corn leaf blight,sheath blight,kernel rot,stalk rot and corn rust,the gray leaf spot of maize became the limiting factor in maize production in the regions,and it was not been ignored because of its rapid development and increas-ingly serious harmfulness.
