Stability Analysis of TCP Congestion Control Protocol in IP Networks

In this paper we use functional differential equation to model the TCP congestion control mechanism in a network setting. Using the model developed in this paper, we present a critical analysis of the TCP-Reno algorithm in Internet and derive a stability condition. We point out unstable behaviors in some network settings.
