Application of Building Information Model in construction of lock culvert with complex curved shape

Based on Building Information Model(BIM), we realized and optimized the space design of lock culvert with complex curved shape, simulated the construction template including the splitting and splicing, installation, and quantity statistics by using the BIM technology, and solved the difficulty of lock culvert construction with complex curved shape. Engineering practice proved that the application of BIM was feasible and easy with remarkable effect; it can shorten the construction period and lower the cost, and can be copied and easy to be promoted.
