Current BR(branching-router)-based methods can reduce multicast state and improve the scalability, but they suffer from long join latency, and can not adapt BR fails quickly. To solve the problem above,we proposed a novel BR-based multicast routing protocol fast branch multicast(FBM)in this paper. This scheme took the advantages of the current BR-based multicast management. And through pre-establishing temporary forwarding states,FBM speed up the multicast join process. In this paper,we implemented FBM and other related protocols in NS2.Simulation and theory analyses results show that FBM can not only join multicast service quickly, but also manage multicast efficiently to adapt BR fails faster.
