An Introduction to ASTER Data and ASTER Mission

The paper gives a general introduction to ASTER data, including 3 optical subsystems, data, application and the process of ordering data. Because of the U.S. Global Change Research Act of 1990, researchers are permitted to get the data, even free. The high quality data will offer abundant information for the research areas: global changing, LUCC, nature disaster and so on. Therefore, a general introduction to ASTER data and ASTER mission are necessary for future research.
