Transient Signals Detection Method Based on Variance and Flatness Measure

Transient detection is one of key algorithms in perceptual audio coding.Its performance directly affects the complexity and quality in audio coding.A combined transient detection algorithm based on variance and flatness measure is presented.Tested by emulator,the method has much less redundancy detection of low energy transient signals and quality of missed in audio coding and gets detection results closer to the actual situation of signal.In addition,this algorithm has high detection precision and simple algorithm realization.
