Study on Data Compression Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks

Due to the high density of nodes and the detection area usually overlapped by too many sensors,the limited energy source is the dominant factor where energy starvation occurs.Data compression can reduce redundant data,minimize the transmission capacity,and save the node energy effectively.This paper analyzes the data redundancy of nodes in the aspects of temporal and spatial correlation,classifies the data compression algorithms and compares the several typical algorithms.
