On the Linkage of Lexical Items with the Light Tone Included in the V ocabulary Lists in Both the New and Old Syllabi

Compared with the Syllabus for the Putonghua Proficiency Test(t he old syllabus),the Guidelines for the Putonghua Proficiency Test(the new syll abus) has streamlined the treatment of lexical items with the light tone.The p aper analyses the difficulty in the linkage of lexical items with the light tone included in the vocabulary lists in both the syllabi and proposes a solution to the problem.
