Performance analysis of ABR flow control algorithms under the environment of self-similar VBR traffic

The recent research indicates that both LAN traffic and WAN traffic hav e the characteristic of self-similar.In order to exactly evaluate the performan ce of ABR flow control algorithms,we study their dynamics behavior under the envir onment of self-similar VBR traffic by means of simulation.There are two purpose s:the first is to provide theoretic evidences for selecting ABR flow control alg orithm during the switch design,and the second is to offer some references to im prove these algorithms by giving their advantages and shortcomings.
