Construction and Development of Telemetry Monitoring System for Navigation Mark of Three Gorges Reservoir Area

In order to meet the requirements of waterway maintenance and navigation mark management after the stage of Three Gorges is stored to 135m, a telemetry monitoring system for 228 navigation marks along waterway from Three Gorges to Bianyuxi has been set up. In this article,the structure, plan, and functions of the telemetry monitoring system for navigation mark, and it,s role in waterway maintenance are briefly described. Then the author introduces system operation principle in detail, and makes analysis on existing insufficiencies and improvement measures, also discusses developing directions for the monitoring system. Two-year,s normal operation has brought about enormous economic benefit and social effect, moreover, has accumulated more experiences for future development and popularization, and broken a new way for scientific and innovative navigation mark management.
