Most water resource management systems use relational databases which cannot include geographical information or spacial analyses. A new water resource management system was developed with incorporating advanced informatics and geographical information system (GIS) technologies by integrating the system with Geodatabase, analyses tools, and water management models base on analyzing and summarizing the urban water resource management and the its practices of GIS. The results illustrate the advantages of integrating the Geodatabase into an urban water resource management system. The system has been successfully applied to a case study of the water system in Luo Yang, Henan.
