This paper describes the design and the test results of Gaussian frequency shift keying for bluetooth. The whole circuit is made up of Gaussian filter and frequency shift keying, which is implemented with direct digital frequency synthesis. In this design, the ROM in which the output signals are stored is largely decreased due to the reasonable coding and compression technology. This Gaussian frequency shift keying is fabricated by 0.35 μm Charter double-poly four-metal CMOS technology. Simulation and experimental results show that the circuit can correctly realize the modulation of baseband digital signals. The chip area is 1 mm×0.3 mm and the power consumption is 8.53 mW for a single 3.3 V power supply.
