Performance analysis of modified MC-CDMA modulation used in mine tunnel

The bit error rate(BER) performance of a modified frequency domain spreading multicarrier CDMA(MC-CDMA) modulation used in mine tunnel was analyzed based on the typical MC-CDMA.The main system parameters of the modified MC-CDMA were also given so that any sub-carrier experiences frequency-unselective fading channel in main tunnel. In the simulation, the data rates of users were assumed to be 10 Mb/s and 20 Mb/s,and the central carrier frequencies were assumed to be 1.8 GHz and 2.4 GHz,respectively. The results show that the number and data rates of users generally affect the BER performance more than that of the impulse interference or Doppler frequency offset. When the number of users is more than ten in an area, the error floor of BER performance will generally occur at 20 dB signal-noise-ratio(SNR) for the modified MC-CDMA.
