The application of video technology to the anthropological studies is a major breakthrough in the field of anthropology. The film's appeal and shock are far stronger than the written description, but the film's defects(such as its intuitiveness or exposure) also cause more difficulties for anthropologists' shooting of anthropological films,in which the most prominent issue is ethical. How to grasp the distance between the anthropologist and the subject is a question worthy of study, for it is of great significance to the development of visual anthropology. This paper attempts to put forward some suggestions on ethical issues in visual anthropology films.
