A Thermal Shutdown Circuit Using Comparator with Bandgap Structure

A new thermal shutdown circuit based on the comparator with bandgap structure is proposed. Using 0.6 μm BiCMOS process, the result of simulation shows that the circuit features high sensitivity to temperature, accurate turn off/on threshold value under different supply voltage and process. And it makes the circuit a wide usage in the field of power ICs and power supply management while the thermal oscillation is eliminated by the hysteretic comparator.
