The objectives, design principles, monitoring items, and arrangement of safety monitoring for the Wanjiazhai Yellow River Diversion Project are introduced. The structure, configuration and functions of the automatic monitoring system are expounded. And seven pieces of experience are summarized for the design and realization of monitoring of large diversion projects.
