Feifei Wang · 2009

Objective:To evaluate the effects of CAD(computer-aided detection) in mammography by comparing diagnostic accuracy of mammography from different rank doctors after using CAD.Methods:Total of 251 pictures of mammography from 131 cases had been observed by two different rank doctors independently before and after using CAD.Then we summarized the diagnostic sensitivity, specificity and accuracy from two doctors by the ROC(receiver operation characteristic) curve. Results:After using CAD,the accuracy of mammography by the middle-grade doctor increased 2.39%,and that by the low-grade doctor increased 7.57%.From the ROC curve, the evaluation accuracy of BI-RADS level by the middle-grade doctor increased 2.5%,and that by the low-grade doctor increased 10.8%.Conclusion:It is useful to improve the diagnostic accuracy of mammography by CAD,especially for low-grade doctor.
