Research on Network Traffic Self-Similarity Nature

The self-similarity of the network traffic has severe impact on flow control and queuing analysis in date networks,therefore it has received significant attention. This paper reveals features and underlying cause of self-similarity traffic,investigates the effect of self-similarity traffic on network technology. Research developments of self-similarity traffic are reviewed. Some open problems and future research directions are also pointed out.
