On E-C Translation of Passive Structures in EST

Passive structures are often used in somewhat different ways in English and Chinese although there are the same structures in the two languages.English passive structures find much wider application,especially in English for Science and technology(EST),but this is not true of Chinese.Therefore,when translated into Chinese,English sentences with passive structures in EST are seldom kept passive in Chinese,but turned into active sentences,judgment sentences,no-subject sentences or other kinds of sentences.
