Research and Realization of Multicast Key Negotiation

Jin Xiaoyan · Microelectronics & Computer · 2006

The Internet Key Exchange (IKE) protocol is a very important part of e IPSec protocol suite and is invoked to establish keys and security related parameters between hosts in order to protect the exchanged application data with them. Since the IKE is only addressed to protected negotiation of pairwise security data at the beginning, it has some demerits at communication based on IP multicast services. For securing communication based on multicast services the Multicast Internet Key Exchange(MIKE) is introduced. The MIKE base on the IKE and is invoked to negotiate about keys and security related parameters. This paper discusses the architecture and functions and design a mode to implement the MIKE.
