The Line Feature Simplification Algorithm Preserving Curve Bend Feature

Line feature generalization has been an important part of map generalization, of which the linear elements simplification is the most important part. Based on the analysis of the related literature about the simplification of the linear elements, a curve bend feature line simplification algorithm was proposed. With the quantification of the constraint conditions in the bend selection process, linear element was simplified and its visual bend was maintained, which help to describe the changes accurately before and after the bend simplification. Through the experimental test, this simplification method has achieved a good result.
