A Congestion Control Strategy for Video Services

Recently, more and more video services on the Internet have been developed. How to provide QoS-required video services over heterogeneous IP networks has been a hot topic of research. A new strategy of congestion control is proposed in this paper. It includes the queue management based on layer importance and the rate control based on package loss detection. Simulation results show that we can achieve high-quality video services under network congestion.
