Impact of Handoff on Call Blocking in a Cellular System

The interaction between the handoff strength and the blocking probability in a cellular system is analyzed in this paper.It can be pointed out that handoff call arriving rate and call blocking probabilities are all variables changing along with the average number of cells a call lasts,and can not be treated as constant values as some references do.Otherwise, the system performance will differ from the actual situation.Simulation supports our analysis.
