Image Retrieval Based on Uniform Region Segmentation

In order to reduce the effect of the accurate image segmentation on the content-based image retrieval,a new image retrieval algorithm based on uniform region segmentation was proposed.At first,the image was segmented using uniform region,and then the histogram color feature and Gabor wavelet texture future were extracted.Finally,a resonable similarity measure was designed to improve the retrieval efficiency.The experiments results show that the algorithm in this paper is more accurate than SIMPLIcity system.The average retrieval performance is increased by 3.6%.Better ave-rage precision ratio is obtained.
