On the No-access Hypothesis

Since Chomsky put forward thePrinciples and Parametersin 1980s, his Universal Grammar has been widely accepted, especially in the field of first language acquisition. However, because of the discrepancy between first language acquisition and second language acquisition, the accessibility of Universal Grammar are doubted and argued by quite a few scholars and researchers in the field of second language acquisition,of which the no-access hypothesis is criticized due to the lack of evidence and theoretical support.
